Damnit
We had a month of travel planned for August - Dublin, Worldcon in Glasgow, Amsterdam, London. Except K broke his ankle last week and we are not going anywhere now. Fortunately our flights to and from Canada could be cancelled and credits banked for future use. The plan is to rebook our big trip for next spring.
K is hugely disappointed. I am too, but more for him. He's never been overseas, and this was going to be a bucket list adventure.
All you lovely people who had travel suggestions and advice, I've made notes and hope to use them next March or April!

Condolences to you both and here's hoping K's ankle makes an entire recovery.

Ankles are notorious for "we can't tell, come back in a week" but still nothing like a fun thing to be waiting for! I shall hope it comes out as well as it possibly can.
(Glad to hear it!)

Lovely bucket list trip! If you decide to go for it again around the same time another year, might be worth popping into Edinburgh for a touch of the Fringe and the sheer contrast to Glasgow. One thing to bear in mind is that Summer 24 has been dire in Scotland, so another year might present more amenable weather. It's an ill wind and all that...
Wishing you both well x

I did my Fringing 20 years ago (Edmonton had one of the largest festivals in USA/Canada), and enjoyed it. My cultural goal for this trip is to catch an early music concert or two. Or if I'm fortunate, a historical dance class.

Oh, that sucks. Here's to quick healing, and enjoyable future travel.

We are having a great time - like you were planning, taking Worldcon (and the dance event) as the needed excuse to do what I suspect is the trip of a lifetime.

Blues Dance Festival in regional Italy - I was there to hang out, partner was there to dance. I've missed writing a lot of it up because the days were long, but any of the days in Guglionesi cover it.
